Today in this video we will show you how you can easily add a currency converter to your WordPress website. A WordPress currency converter allows your website visitors to quickly calculate the exchange rate of different currencies without leaving your website.
Follow the steps to Add a currency converter to your WordPress website:
Step::1 Login to your WordPress admin dashboard
Step::2 Go to the Plugins section and click on Add New option
Step::3 Search for CBX Currency Converter plugin in the available search box
Step::4 Click on Install Now button and then Activate the plugin
Step::5 Once the plugin has been activated go to Settings and then click on Currency Converter that will take you to the general settings page for the plugin.
Step::6 In order to use the plugin, you have to go get a free API key. Click on the link given next to Alphavantage API Key
Step::7 Once you click on the link you will redirected a page i.e Claim your API Key where you need to fill some information like your Organization, email address.
Step::8 Check the box “I’m not a Robot” and then click on GET FREE API KEY button
Step::9 Now you will see a API Key is being generated, copy it and paste it in the Alphavantage API Key box under General Settings page
Step::10 Check out rest of the settings. Select the layout you prefer from the drop-down list, there are four to choose from. The plugin allows you to display a currency calculator, exchange rate list, or both using these layouts.
Step::11 Once you are done with all the other options under General Settings, click “Save Changes.”
Step::12 In the next tab i.e Calculator Layout Default you will be allowed to set default values for the WordPress currency calculator.
Step::13 Here you can enable currencies, set a default option for currencies to convert from, set a default amount for the main currency, default amount and calculator heading.
Step::14 After you have completed all the settings under the second tab, click on Save Changes button
Step::15 Now go to “List Layout Default” tab and select the primary currency and then add a list of other currencies to display in the rate list.
Make sure you click the “Save Changes” button on every tab so that you ensure all changes are saved.
Step::16 Next go to Widgets under Appearance section on the left side panel.
Step::17 Click on CBX Currency Converter and then tap on Add Widget under Footer section
Step::18 Finally under CBX Currency Converter section you can customize the display properties.
Step::19 Once you have done all the customization, click on Done and Save it.
Now just check your website’s front-end, you will see a Currency Converter is visible on your website.
